Webb assumed the position of chairman in 2014, following Varsity Brands' acquisition of the company the previous year. Before that, he studied political science and government at the University of Oklahoma, one of the prominent public research universities based south of Oklahoma City in Norman. While studying at the university, he became an active campus leader and was closely involved with the institution's cheer squad, which led to his work with the National Cheerleaders Association.
